そんな「ものづくりの町」で働く労働者たちの暮らしを豊かにしてきたのが、そばめしや粉ものといったソウルフード、老舗の銭湯など、独自の下町文化。今でも昭和風情が残る路地裏を歩きながら、神戸の産業を支えてきた職人たちを育てた町を満喫してみてください。

Nagata Ward in Kobe is commonly known as the “shoemaking town.” It has numerous factories and ateliers that have long played a crucial role in supporting the Western Japanese industry.

Within this manufacturing hub, a unique local culture has flourished. The town is renowned for its street food, such as sobameshi and okonomiyaki—originating as quick and delicious meals for workers. Additionally, public baths, known as sento, provide a convenient source of refreshment after work.
